Curious where this board is logging in from these days

Been reading here for months and finally making an account, mostly because I keep noticing how much of the advice depends on geography. I train four days a week (upper/lower), keep protein around 190g, and guard my sleep like it's a job.

I'm in the Ontario suburbs, so the gym is dead quiet at 5:30am and every store here stocks the same three brands of cottage cheese.

What I can't figure out is how much changes by country. Refill timing, whether a clinic does virtual visits, what affordable protein even looks like, how crowded the gym gets after work. Half the time I can guess where someone's posting from within a post or two just based on pharmacy talk.

So where are you all logging in from, and what's one local thing that quietly shapes how you run your routine?

Ontario suburbs checking in: 5:30am gym is my private studio, and every store is a three-brand hostage situation.

Honestly, fellow Canadian here—Atlantic Canada, so our grocery aisles are basically the same three brands plus a sad clearance shelf. My 5:30am gym is also dead quiet: me, one retired guy, and the same three treadmills.

I’ve been front-loading protein with Greek yogurt, berries, and overnight oats, then keeping a shaker in the car for after. Small win this week: hit my protein target three days straight without feeling stuffed.

Curious—what does your upper/lower split look like? And how do you handle protein on low-appetite days?

That’s the habit I’m still trying to nail.

Logging in from an airport gate again ✈️ Ontario suburbs sound like a 5:30am gym dream!

welcome. The geography thing is real, but I try to keep my system portable: same bedtime window, same protein anchor, same four-day upper/lower split. I don’t track every bite—just morning weight, sleep, and whether I got protein in at each meal.

If two weeks go by and nothing moves, I tighten portions instead of starting over. Meal prep is two big batches and a bag of frozen veg; boring, but it survives a chaotic week. Since my appetite changed, I’ve leaned more on shakes and Greek yogurt because solid food gets heavy fast.

I also stopped scheduling workouts at times I know I’ll skip—evening sessions beat a perfect plan I ignore. No special tricks, just defaults I can repeat when motivation dips.

Ontario suburbs here too—5:30am gym is basically a ghost town. Same three brands everywhere, lol.

Ontario suburbs here too—5:30am gym is a ghost town, and my spreadsheet confirms 93% empty racks.

late-night gamer logging in from the prairies—my 5:30am gym is the kitchen foor and

Rural Midwest here—my version of geography panic is that the nearest gym is 25 mins away, so I do a lot of home dumbbell work and walk the county roads. Weather decides my cardio more than my schedule does.

I track protein in a plain notes list and aim for 150g, but weekends are where it slips; I do a Sunday prep of shredded chicken, boiled eggs, and overnight oats so the week starts easy. Sharp question: do you keep protein and workouts identical on rest days, or do you shift calories/cardio around?

I’m trying to figure out whether a true rest day should look totally different. Also, 5:30am quiet gym sounds like a dream.

denver gate here; airport treadmill and a sad protein box are my whole routine today 😂
