Stopped reta two months ago, night-shift eating didn't come back

I work 7p-7a, four nights on. Stopped reta 10 weeks ago. I expected the old 3am vending machine pull to come back. It didn't. I still pack a protein shake and carrots.

Still eat at the nurses' station instead of the drive-thru after shift. Down 62 lbs total. The last 9 came off after I stopped, which surprised me. Not claiming that's normal. Appetite is back, just quieter. I get hungry, eat, move on.

The mental static stayed gone. Before, I'd plan a whole shift around snacks. Now I forget they're in my bag.

Scale has been flat for a month. I'm fine with it. Anyone else have the habits outlast the med?

That’s a really interesting detail. I had a similar surprise after stopping a GLP-1—my 3am “hunger” turned out to be mostly cue-driven.

I tracked time, hunger 1–10, and what I was doing for two weeks; most urges hit 30–45 min after a charting block and coffee, not when I’d actually gone long without food. The pack-ahead protein shake/carrots may be replacing the vending-machine cue loop, which is a concrete behavior change, not just lingering drug effect.

In the trials appetite does tend to return, but shift-work eating is so routine-based that I wouldn’t expect a clean on/off. Did your sleep timing or break schedule change around the same time you stopped?
