What steadying habits survived my third year of maintenance

I’m in my third year of maintenance after losing 82 lbs on a GLP-1. The dramatic part ended a while ago.

What’s left is pretty plain: I prep two lunches on Sunday, keep a mug of water by the kettle, and walk the same 1.6-mile loop after work. Last month I traveled for five days and my weight stayed inside a 3-lb band without me white-knuckling every meal.

In year one I would’ve called that luck. Now I think it’s just repetition.

Some weeks my appetite is louder, and I don’t read it as failure; I just make my meals a little more filling and go to bed earlier. I’m curious what small anchor has lsted for others here.

Not the impressive stuff — the boring thing you still do when no one’s watching?

Honestly the plain stuff is what I struggle with most. I’m in a long plateau and my brain keeps wanting some new shiny fix.

The habit that’s survived for me is a 10-minute pre-dinner check: do I have a protein and a vegetable ready? If yes, I log it and move on; if not, I add the easiest thing in the fridge.

Boring, but it beats my elaborate meal plans. Curious about your travel week—did you keep the same 1.6-mile loop while away, or swap it for something like an airport walk?

I’m trying to build a “trip version” that doesn’t feel like punishment.
