I've been reusing 10mL sterile water vials for mixing lab reagents, and over the last 6 weeks I noticed rubber specks in two of them. I switched from 18g to 21g draw needles and started logging punctures per vial.
At 25 punctures, the 18g vial had visible coring around the puncture ring; the 21g looked clean but drew much slower. I'm trying to figure out a sane rotation: retire by puncture count, switch gauge, or both? Has anyone kept a puncture log? Not after dosing info, just needle/storage wear.
