Cousins' wedding next month and I am already bracing myself for everything that comes with it

I haven't seen most of my mom's side in two years. Back then I was 278; this morning I'm 217. That should feel like a victory lap, except my scale has been circling 214–217 for seven weeks and I'm tired of negotiating with the same three pounds. I'm determined, not delusional.

I know the aunts will mean well, but I'm already rehearsing a boring answer for 'what's your secret?' because I don't want the whole reception to become a before-and-after slideshow. Part of me wans to just enjoy being smaller and part of me wants to wear a sign that says the last stretch has been a grind.

For those who only see extended family once in a blue moon, how do you get through the comments without letting them hijack the day?

Seven weeks at 214–217 with a 278 starting point? I’d bet your 7-day rolling average is still creeping down even if the daily numbers are lying.

Mine did that: 209–212 for six weeks, then a 3.8 lb drop over eight days. The plateau was mostly sodium + a new lifting block + my cycle.

For the wedding, I’d pick the outfit now and stop treating the scale as a guest. What does your spreadsheet say for weekly average vs. 30-day trend?

If the 30-day slope is flat, that’s different from a noisy range.
