My cheap dorm meals got a decent lab report

I'm the person who treats the dorm microwave like a science lab and a $4 rotisserie chicken like a retirement plan. My meals have been pretty repetitive: eggs, lentils, tuna packets, Greek yogurt from the big tub, and whatever frozen vegetables are on sale.

I got routine bloodwork done for a school physical, mostly expecting a lecture.

Instead, my fasting glucose and triglycerides were lower than last year, and my A1c moved in the direction I wanted. I'm not claiming lentils cured me or anything. I just thought I was white-knuckling through on cheap food, and apparently some of it actually counted.

The scale has ben slow and rude, but this was a nice quiet receipt. Anyone else had labs shift before the mirror caught up?

Nice. Curious: did your panel include ferritin?

Mine looked fine on the basic stuff but ferritin was low after a stretch of tuna packets + lentils + lifting 4x—nothing scary, just explained why squats felt like sandbags.

What helped me was rotating in whole eggs, frozen edamame, and beef once a week, plus actually logging protein/fiber instead of eyeballing. Also, how’s your sodium?

Big tub Greek yogurt and frozen veg are solid, but tuna packets and rotisserie chicken can stack up fast. What marker surprised you most?

the rotisserie chicken as retirement plan is too real lol. do you shred it and freeze flat in ziploc snack bags?

thats the only way mine doesnt turn into a science experiment by day 3. also did they check vitamin d?

mine was low after a winter of late-night ranked + zero sun, and i only noticed cause my sleep was garbage. not saying thats you, just the one thing i wish id tracked sooner.

curious if your panel had it or jut the standard cbc/cmp situation.
