My weekly average is unspectacular and I’m overthinking it

The scale is averaging 1.0 lb/week over 14 weeks. 231 → 217. First month ran hot at ~2.5/week, then settled into a boring linear-ish line.

I lift twice a week, walk 8k steps, hit 130g protein, sleep around 7h. My spreadsheet says the math is mathing; my brain keeps auditing variables anyway.

The non-scale column: waist tape down 2 inches, resting HR down 4 bpm, stairs no longer spike me. I know slow is still progress, but the internet has a way of making “steady” sound like malfunction.

For the systems-minded folks: did you let a boring weekly average run, or did you tinker and regret it?

Honestly, waist down 2 inches while the scale drops 1 lb/week is a big non-scale win — I’d trust that over any single week. One thing that helped my overthinking: switch to a 3-week rolling average, because lifting twice a week can hide fat

1 lb/wk after a front-loaded month is pretty normal, especially with lifting in the mix. mine did the same cliff then boring 0.8–1.2 line.

what stopped me auditing every variable was a 10-day rolling weight instead of weekly, plus waist tape same spot first thing once a week. also make sure your weekly average is same-day-to-same-day; comparing sunday morning to friday after a late gaming night and salty snacks is just water noise.

what’s your resting hr trend doing over those 14 weeks? mine moved before the scale did.
