Spreadsheet says I left class 3, brain wants a recount

I keep a monthly spreadsheet because I do not trust day-to-day noise. Last March my BMI was 41.2. Today it is 30.4, which technically puts me in the overweight bucket by the cutoffs I use.

I thought I would feel something dramatic, but my first reaction was to recheck my height, then build a 7-day median and a 30-day trendline.

The line is still down, just flattening, and my waist is 13 inches smaller than the last class-3 measurement. Resting heart rate dropped 9 bpm too. Honestly, I do not think BMI tells a great story about health, but it is the label my chart uses, so I track it anyway.

The weird part is my brain keeps filing me under the old category. Did your mental self-image lag behind the numbers, or did one specific metric finally make it click?

Hi, I’m brand new here—about day five—so sorry if this is a basic question. The height recheck made me laugh because I did the same thing: stood against the wall and made my partner verify it.

I’ve only been logging daily weights in a notes app, plus a waist measure once a week, because the scale alone makes me spiral. For your 7-day median, do you include weekends or treat them as noisier?

I’m trying to find a simple rule that won’t make me overthink every morning.
