Weekly average check-in

I started a very plain spreadsheet when I began this medication six weeks ago. One tab, four columns: date, morning weight, seven-day average, and a short note about sleep, salt, or stress.

I do not chase the daily number anymore; I let the weekly average do the talking. My first five weekly averages were 212.6, 212.2, 212.0, 211.8, and 211.7, so the loss is small but not zero.

The daily scale often looks flat, though, and that used to discourage me. The note column has been the kindest part.

When I see “poor sleep” or “restaurant dinner” beside a high morning, I stop treating it like a mystery. I am sharing because this system keeps me from changing everything ater one disappointing morning.

For those who track weekly averages, what other column has helped you keep perspective?

Sorry to hijack — quick side question: is your seven-day average a rolling window ending each morning, or calendar weeks? I've fiddled with both and they can tell different stories.

Looping back: the number that jumps out is your deltas — 0.4, 0.2, 0.2, 0.1. That's flattening. Worth remembering a rolling mean lags by roughly three or four days, so anything that shifted two weeks ago is only now fully showing up in that column.

In the trials, loss does decelerate, but six weeks is also early enough that water and glycogen can still be doing a lot of the masking. Have you tried lining the average up against your salt and sleep notes?

Mine correlate more than I'd like to admit.
