I’m seven weeks in and honestly a little deflated. I have two kids, so meals are less “meals” and more me standing at the counter eating whatever they didn’t finish.
My snack drawer is supposed to be my emergency plan: popcorn, strig cheese, apples, those little pretzel packs. Instead I’m still elbow-deep in it at 3 p.m. while the 4-year-old has a meltdown and the 7-year-old asks for a snack he won’t eat. Scale-wise, I’m down maybe 1 pound and my jeans fit the same.
I wasn’t expecting magic, but I thought the constant food chatter would at least get quieter. It hasn’t. If anything, the chaos makes me not notice whether I’m hungry or just touched out and tired.
I’m not ready to give up, but I need a better snack-drawer strategy. Anyone else have the 3 p.m. kid-chaos window where everything falls apart?
