The food noise didn’t get the memo about my refill

I’m on the road again: four cities, two rental kitchenettes, and one very loyal protein bar habit. My GLP-1 and I are apparently on separate trips.

I keep waiting for the quiet everyone talks about. Instead my brain still narrates every gas-station snack aisle like it’s a cooking show.

Scale is flat-ish, steps are decent, water is fine, and I’m not even having rough side effects. So it’s not chaos—just… nothing obvious.

I know bodies aren’t vending machines, but I’d love a sign. Has anyone had a slow start that eventually turned into something?

Or did you find the non-food stuff—sleep, strength, walking—did more early heavy lifting than the med?

Road trips are my personal snack-aisle cooking show too—something about a gas station at 3 p.m. makes me feel like I need a themed charcuterie.

What helps me in rental kitchenettes is building one “boring but satisfying” shelf: pre-cut veg, hard-boiled eggs, plain Greek yogurt, a couple of dark chocolates, and a real plate. I still get the ritual without wandering the whole aisle.

As a cafe owner I also taste things constantly, so I’ve started using a tiny spoon and logging it as “taste, not meal”—otherwise it’s invisible. Is your food noise louder at actual meal times, or at those transition moments like fueling up and checking in?
