Libido side quest: anyone else reading peptide papers?

Tbh i’m about seven months on a GLP-1 and down 28 lb, and the odd part is my libido has been quieter than I expected. Could be the calorie deficit, could be sleep — I’m averaging 5.5 hours — could be less spontaneous eating turning into less spontaneous everything?

I keep seeing peptide names floated for desire, and when I actually read the papers, the story is narrower than the forum chatter. In the trials I’ve skimmed, effects are modest, mostly in specific groups, and there’s a lot of flushing/nausea type stuff to weigh.

I’m not against it; I just want to understand mechanism before I get excited. For anyone who’s gone down this rabbit hole: did you sort out whether your issue was the med, the weight loss, hormones, or just life? And did a clinician actually help you connect those dots?

I’m trying not to chase a compound before I’ve checked the boring stuff first.

Hi, I’m brand new here (week one), so I don’t have much to add — but I really appreciate you posting this. I’ve started a silly little note in my phone: sleep hours, whether I walked or lifted, protein at breakfast, and a 1–5 “interest” score.

Way too early for patterns, but it makes me feel less like I’m guessing. Have you noticed any difference on days you get closer to 7 hours vs your usual 5.5, or does it seem more tied to the calorie deficit?

Sorry if that’s too nosy — just trying to learn.

Two kids here, so chaotic mealtimes are my baseline. What finally moved the needle for me wasn’t another peptide tab—it was tracking sleep + “non-sex touch” separately from libido.

I put a cheap sleep tracker on and logged couch cuddles/back scratches (zero pressure) for two weeks. The pattern: under 6 hrs = zero interest; 6.5+ and 10 min of touch = actually felt like a person again.

Also moved the snack drawer out of the kitchen loop so 9pm grazing wasn't my only dopamine hit
