My supplement ledger hit a year and it's mostly a graveyard

A year ago I started a private spreadsheet for every supplement, peptide, and nootropic I got curious about. Not public, not monetized, just my own 'prove it' file. It has 41 rows now. Only six survived past eight weeks, and three of those are boring basics I already knew I needed.

I lift four times a week, hold protein around 180g, sleep 7.5-ish, and I care more about recomp than scale noise. My waist is down about 1.5 inches while the scale has been flat for five weeks. That contrast is exactly why I log this stuff. Most hype didn't survive two months of my own notes.

Anyone else keep a filter like this before adding another bottle to the shelf?

I’m two years into maintenance and did a similar cull. The thing that finally shrank my list was adding two columns: “effect I can name” and “monthly cost I’d defend out loud.” Most rows died on the second one.

The keepers weren’t dramatic—less afternoon friction, better gym recovery, that kind of boring. Curious: did any of your six survive because you genuinely felt a difference, or because stopping felt riskier?

That distinction got my own list under ten.
