I've been tracking dead space on my water draws for 8 weeks: 31g fixed-needle pins vs 1mL luer lock. Using a 0.001g scale, 10 draws each, I got ~0.02mL loss on the fixed needles and ~0.08mL on luer lock. Over 12 vials that's almost 1mL extra bac water gone.
Is my method flawed, or do low-dead-space syringes actually make a real difference for storage/reconstitution? What's your measured loss?
