Seven months in and my soda fridge is basically a museum since I never touch any of it

not a milestone post exactly. i started in winter, mostly because my 2am ranked sessions were half soda half regret.

first few months i stayed on the same starter pen and just swapped: diet root beer, then sparkling water with those little flavor drops, then plain cold water. i didn't track much except how may cans were in the recycling.

somewhere around month five i noticed i could queue one more match without needing a drink to stay awake. month seven: down 29 lbs, sleep is less trash, and my desk has actual clear space. the weird part is the appetite quiet didn't fix the habit by itself; i still reach for a can out of reflex.

i've been just replacing it with a seltzer and going back to the game. anyone else find the late-night hand-to-fridge autopilot lingers after hunger chills out?

the recycling-bin metric is genius honestly, way less work than logging anything. i did a similar thing but with bottle caps in a jar — every finished 1L sparkling water, cap goes in. watching the jar fill was weirdly more motivating than any app. now it's full and it's my dice cup for d&d, so the system evolved.

real question though: does the museum fridge still have one emergency actual soda hiding in the door, or did you fully convert it to water and cans for guests? i kept exactly one cherry coke in mine as an artifact and i swear i just look at it sometimes like a trophy.

The museum line made me laugh. Our garage fridge still hoards my husband’s craft sodas, and I finally moved them to the basement so I’m not staring at them during late shows.

What helped me was tying the old soda hour to a walk—ten minutes around the block after dinner, then I come home and make a big pitcher of herbal iced tea for the next day. Not fancy, but it broke the reach-and-crack habit.

Do you still game at 2am, or did your nights shift too?
