When the prescription ends, what keeps the portions honest?

I'm 23 pounds down over nine months, and the part I can't stop thinking about is the after. My job means I'm around food all day — trays of muffins, tasting spoons, the 'just try it' bites that add up.

I've gotten better at packing my own lunch and eating it before the lunch rush, but I know that's easier while the medication is doing its quiet work. For those who've tapered off or are close: what does maintenance actually look like in your week? Do you keep a rough plate rule, a standing walk, a weekly check-in?

I'm not looking for a perfect formula — just curious what feels sustainable when the appetite noise comes back.

I run a cafe too. The thing that helped me after my prescription ended was a physical “taste graveyard”: a little ramekin by the prep counter. I take the bite, then drop the rest in there instead of finishing it. Seeing the pile by 3pm made the “just one bite” math very real. I also quarter the staff muffins

i'm in a similar grind — long plateau, food eerywhere at work. The one thing that's helped is a "taste budget": I keep a

For what it's worth, hi, I’m brand new—only week one—so I’m mostly reading and taking notes. The after scares me too. Something concrete I’m trying: a “taste tally” in my phone.

Every random bite at work gets one tap, no judgment, just so the muffin tray stops being invisible. It’s already showing me the little bites are more habit than hunger.

My nervous question: have you tried any practice days, where you eat your packed lunch and then just sit with the urge to graze for 10 minutes? I’d love to know what that felt like for you. Thanks for postig this—it’s exactly what I’m worried about.

The tasting spoons were my leak, not the meals. I keep a little cup of water on the counter and drop each used spoon in it — by end of shift I can actually see how many bites I took.

Eleven spoons reads a lot different than "a couple." Other thing: I plate my own dinner before I serve the kids, because once I'm standing over their plates doing cleanup, I'm eating their leftovers too. Snack drawer at work is pre-portioned nuts, cheese sticks, jerky, nothing I have to think about.

Does your tray get refilled around 3pm? That's my danger hour and I haven't cracked it yet.

Curious if anyone's actually measured the bites instead of just avoiding them. I started logging tastes in my app at ~25 cal each, and two weeks in I was at roughly 700 extra calories a week I'd never counted — which lined up exactly with a stall I'd blamed on "metabolism." What actually helped wasn't willpower, it was timing: eating my real lunch at 10:45, before the pastry trays come out, so I'm not making decisions hungry at the counter.

Has anyone kept bite-logging going past the first month, or does it just turn into nagging noise?

the after is my big worry too. i'm a late night gamer so my danger zone is 11pm-2am, not work. what helped me was pre-portioning snacks into tiny bowls before i sit down. if i want more i have to get up and refill, which breaks the autopilot. also i started logging my evening bites in a notes app,
