My Sunday start date turned the dorm desk into a snack tribunal

Sunday is my first day on the new prescription, so Thursday I decided to prep like a responsible adult. I cleared one dorm-fridge shelf, made a sad little grocery list, and bought cottage cheese cups, eggs, and two cans of tuna because they were the cheapest protein per gram.

Then I got nervous, rearranged the shelf three times, and ate instant noodles standing over the sink.

The eggs are still in the bag. My current meal plan is mostly whatever the microwave trusts me with, so I’m trying to line up easy backups instead of a perfect menu. I did make one good thing: rice pouch, tuna, hot sauce, and a scoop of cottage cheese, which sounds unhinged but worked.

I’m weirdly nervous about Sunday and also about my $19 meal card balance. What’s your no-stove, cheap-protein fallback when the prep plan gets too ambitious?

I did the same thing my first week back: bought four kinds of protein, then stood in front of the fridge like it owed me an apology. One concrete thing that helped in a tiny fridge: I stopped prepping “perfect” and made one grab-and-go shelf plus one emergency shelf.

Grab-and-go = boiled eggs and a cottage cheee cup; emergency = tuna and instant noodles, with frozen peas if there’s a microwave. Did you actually eat the noodles Thursday, or was that just nerves?

And is it a shared dorm kitchen or just a mini-fridge? That changes what’s actually worth buying.
