My taste buds staged a tiny coup against coffee

I’m not sure when it happened, but my mouth rwrote the grocery list. I used to start every morning with two mugs of dark roast; now one sip tastes like metal and I’m reaching for water. The weird part is sweets.

I’ve been doing a weird hotel-room taste test: same apple, one cold from the mini fridge, one room temp. Cold wins every time—crisp and almost sour, while room temp tastes like sweet mush.

Pickles are my new airport ritual: I pack a few dill spears in a zip bag and eat one before the pretzels, which now taste like sugar-coated cardboard. Not sure if it’s the meds or just my mouth rebooting, but it’s keeping me from wasting calories on stuff I don’t even enjoy.

Anyone else notice temperature changing how sweet things taste?
