i've weighed daily for 18 weeks now — 126 mornings, same routine: bathroom, scale, log it, then coffee. The number bounces around by 0.5–2 lbs depending on salt, sleep, hormones, whatever.
My trend line is what keeps me calm; it's down 21 lbs since I started, and my jeans went from a tight 16 to a comfortable 12. But the comments can sting. Last weekend my sister saw the scale and said, 'You're not going to let that thing run your life, are you?' I just shrugged and said the daily data helps me zoom out, not spiral.
I didn't feel like defending it, but it stuck with me. I know daily weighing isn't for everyone, and that's fine.
For me, it's just a data point, not a grade.
How do you handle comments from people who think tracking daily is obsessive?
