Loss rate halved after week ten and my expectations need adjusting

Twenty-two weeks of weekly weights, 18.4 kg total. Split it at week ten and the two halves don't resemble each other: roughly 1.3 kg/week early, about 0.5 kg/week since. Waist tape moved 14 cm, so something is still shifting even while the scale drags.

I don't read this as failure. The early period was water and a steep deficit correcting itself. What's left looks more like actual energy balance, and I now have to eat like a person with a job.

The question I'm sitting with: treat the slower slope as the new baseline, or raise protein and resistance volume first before touching anything else? Cutting intake further just to move the number feels like the wrong lever.

For those past the midpoint — did your rate settle into a stable band, and when did you stop benchmarking the second half against the first?

I run a cafe, so I get the slow-motion part. Week 10-ish was when my little “quality control” bites started mattering again: a spoon of icing, crust trimmings, the last cappuccino foam.

Making one real staff plate and sitting down instead of grazing all shift helped. My scale slowed to ~0.4–0.5 kg/week too, but measurements kept creeping down.

Have you tried comparing monthly averages instead of weekly? That smoothed out my stall panic and made the trend look less brutal.

Proud of you for not calling it failure.

Your waist tape moving 14 cm while the weekly scale slows feels like the real story. I’m in a similar phase and what surprised me was how much my scale fluctuates with salt, hormones, and whether I’ve had a bowel movement.

A 4-week average finally showed a gentle downward line instead of those deceptive weekly drops. I also track how clothes fit at the same time each week and my late-afternoon energy.

Has your waist kept changing at the same rate since week ten, or has that also flattened? And do you notice patterns in the scale the morning after harder workouts or salty dinners?
