New here, week one, already reading about year three

For what it's worth, hi everyone, I’m brand new and today is day six of week one. I’m nervous and trying to keep my questions small, so I hope this is okay. I keep seeing mentions of people who were on tirzepatide for a few years and then felt like it wasn’t doing much for loss anymore.

Some of them talk about adding or moving to reta. I’m not asking whether I should do that—I know that’s not for a forum to decide—but I’m surprised by how much it’s already on my mind. I’ve only lost 1.4 lbs so far, and I know that’s basically nothing in the long run.

Does the early mental noise settle down once you have more weeks behind you? Thank you for being gentle with a newbie.

i’m only a few days in too, so zero wisdom here, but I’ve been logging protein per dollar and a 1–5 hunger score after dorm meals—mostly to prove my $2 chili isn’t a war crime. The “year three” posts scare me as well.

When people say it stopped working, do they mean the scale froze, or the quiet-food-noise feeling came back? Those seem like different beasts.

I’m trying to track waistband fit and afternoon energy too, not just weight, so every flat week doesn’t send me into a spreadsheet spiral.

Welcome. I’m in year two-ish and hit a brutal four-month stall where the scale did nothing.

What finally moved things for me wasn’t the medication—it was going back to basics: weighing my food for two weeks, prioritizing protein at breakfast, and two short strength sessions a week. The scale only dropped 3 lbs, but my waist went down 2 inches and my monthly average finally turned.

So my sharp question: are you tracking anything besides weight, like waist, progress pics, or how clothes fit? Week one is early—collect data, don’t panic.

This grind is weird and nonlinear.

Welcome! Day six is a real milestone—your body’s still adjusting, so try not to borrow year-three worries for week one.

I’m a couple years in, and what helped me most was tracking three non-scale things: protein at breakfast, water before coffee, and a 10-minute walk after dinner. Not perfectly—just enough to see patterns.

When loss slows, I ask myself: am I sleeping? strength training? getting enough protein? What’s one tiny habit you want to lock in this week? Cheering you on.
