Past one hundred pounds down, my weekly average log feels messy

I am a little over one hundred pounds down across sixteen months, and I have kept a weekly average since the beginning. Every morning I step on the scale, then on Sunday I average the seven numbers.

That habit has carried me through many flat stretches, and I trust it more than any single day. Lately, though, the log has started to feel crowded.

I also jot down whether I walked, cooked dinner at home, and slept well. The weekly average is still my anchor, but the extra notes are becoming hard to compare from week to week.

For those of you who have tracked a long loss, how do you keep it usable? Do you pare it down to one or two numbers, or do you review the whole pile at the end of the month?

I am not sure whether I am over-recording or simply in a season where the scale is quiet. I would be grateful for any process tips, especially from people who have stayed consistent after a large milestone.

Tbh first—100+ down over 16 months is a massive win, and keeping those Sunday averages for this long is its own habit victory. When you say the log feels crowded, is it too many numbers or too many annotations?

One thing that helped me was making the weekly average the only headline number and tucking context into a single short tag, like “travel/salty” or “bad sleep,” then reviewing those tags monthly instead of daily. Keeps the noise from taking over.

What do you most want the log to tell you at a glance now—trend, triggers, or just reassurance?
