Rough patch didn't need a new plan, just smaller steps

Night shift wrecked me for most of last month. Sleep was trash. Appetite loud. I wanted to quit tracking and start over Monday.

Instead I picked one thing: a 10-minute walk after my shift, before bed. Did it 12 nights straight. Not magic. But it kept me from raiding the kitchen at 6am.

Two weeks later my mood wasn't garbage and the scale moved 1.4 pounds. That's it. No big reveal. If you're in a rough patch, shrink the job. One habit. One repeat.

What's your smallest version when everything feels heavy?

yo this is the move. i work 10p-6a and the 6am kitchen raid is my actual final boss.

what helped me was swapping my usual 2am soda for a cold flavored seltzer + lime, and keeping a case in the garage fridge. sounds dumb but the little walk to get one broke the autopilot loop, plus no sugar crash at 8am.

i also started logging just the one thing i did right instead of every bite. did your 10-min walk happen before or after you wound down?

asking bc if i walk too close to bed my brain treats it like a quest start, not a shutdown.
