The old badge photo doesn't match my Tuesday

Found an old work badge from 2022 while cleaning a drawer. I was 84 lb heavier then. The weird part is that the before/after I expected to feel cinematic just feels practical.

I don't gasp at the photo; I remember how I used to angle my shoulders away from cameras and plan seating. Now I'm 20 months into maintenance, still weighing most mornings, still walking after dinner, still eating protein first.

The changes that stick out aren't visual: I can cross my legs without thinking, and I don't rehearse a pharmacy pickup. The old badge looks like a stranger, but the life around it is just mine.

Does the old version ever stop feeling like a separate person, or does that just fade with time?

Same badge, different problem: my old lanyard used to sit right at my belly; now it hangs past my belt, so I had to shorten it. I still weigh most mornings but only track a 7-day average in a spreadsheet—daily numbers are too noisy.

Maintenance for me is a 5-lb range, not one number. The practical shift I noticed was chairs: I used to scan every room for armless options. Now I don’t.

Are you tracking a range or still chasing a single maintenance weight?

The “practical” part hits. I kept one old pair of jeans and the tell isn’t the waist—it’s that I no longer map exits or pick aisle seats at movies.

I weigh most mornings too, but I log a 7-day average and only pay attention if it drifts outside a 4-lb band for a week. In the trials, daily weighing seems to help maintenance, but for me the mechanism is just catching the 3-lb creep before it becomes 10.

Curious: do you still have a “seating strategy” reflex, or has that faded? Mine pops up in unfamiliar rooms.

The weirdest thing for me is how maintenance is just… admin.

My old ID photo has that chin-shadow from holding the phone at chest height, and now my Tuesday is cottage-cheese-and-air-fryer-chickpeas dinner logged in the sae notes app as my morning weigh-in, because apparently I’m a spreadsheet goblin. Not cinematic, just chores.

Did you keep the old badge as a benchmark or toss it? I can’t decide if mine is motivation or clutter.
