I’m 19 months into maintenance after losing 68 lb. Most mornings are uneventful now: coffee, a quick weigh-in, then on with the day. But every so often my body pulls a small misdirection.
Last week I was up 2 lb for three days, then it dropped after a long walk and a normal dinner. No emergency. I checked my monthly average, and it was exactly where it’s been since spring.
I used to treat every fluctuation as a verdict. Now I treat it as weather. The long game is mostly boring, and boring is what’s keeping me here.
If your maintenance feels like a trick some days, what helps you wait it out?
