When did daily life start feeling lighter for you?

Down fourteen pounds over eleven weeks, and the scale is honestly the least interesting part. What I notice is that tying my shoes takes one breath instead of two.

The dog’s loop around the block no longer feels like a negotiation. I get up from the floor without planning it first.

But then a bad sleep or a salty dinner and I feel exactly like my old self, which makes me doubt the whole thing. I’m trying to track non-scale signals carefully: how stairs land in my legs, whether I want to walk after lunch, how grumpy I am by 4 p.m.

It’s less a light switch and more a dimmer with flickers. For those further along, when did “feeling better” actually arrive for you?

Was it energy, joints, sleep, mood, or something quieter? And did it show up before or after the number moved? I’d love gentle specifics.

getting off the floor without a plan is the real NSV. For me it was the dorm stairs: third floor, no elevator, and I used to pause on the second landing and pretend to check my email.

Now I just pause because someone’s microwaving fish and I need to know who. Also, actually I think 14 lbs in 11 weeks is more like 1.3 lbs/week, not the lazy 1 lb/week rule—still steady, but don’t sell it short.

Bad sleep/salty dinner still makes me feel puffy and ancient, so you’re not alone.
