My fingers filed a cold complaint this week

I've been logging daily weights since early February, and the weirdest change isn't appetite—it's temperature. My hands go icy around 3 p.m. even with the office heat at 72. I've started keeping fingerless gloves by the kettle and a throw on the couch.

The scale is doing its usual pinball: down 0.4, up 0.2, flat, flat. My weekly average is still drifting down about half a pound, so I'm calling that the signal and leaving the rest as noise. The cold is annoying, not scary for me, but it's real enough that I notice it before hunger.

Is this showing up for you too? I'm treating it like any other data point: log it, layer up, don't let one weird afternoon write the whole story.

Fellow scale-pinball sufferer here. My hands turn into fridge magnets around 3 p.m.

too—dorm window plus cheap desk fan does not help. I’ve started logging a tiny “cold?” note next to my morning weight, along with what lunch protein I actually ate (lentils, eggs, or sad canned chicken).

The icy days cluster when I skip lunch and just do coffee. Not saying that’s causal, just a pattern I noticed.

Are you tracking the cold spells with the scale, or is it purely anecdotal so far?

Fellow spreadsheet person here. Ambient office temp was a red herring for me: I logged office temp (68–74) and a cheap IR thermometer on my fingers at 3 p.m. for six weeks.

My icy days clustered 2–3 days after my 7-day weight average dropped more than 0.6 lb, not on the daily pinball days. Also worse when I skipped lunch or had iced coffee.

Do you log meal/caffeine timing next to the weights? Overlaying that with your weekly average might show whether the cold hands follow the trendline or just the HVAC.

My throw blanket is non-negotiable.
