Spent four hours at the DMV and somehow still ended up with one calm scale week though

I had my license renewal at the DMV on Tuesday, the kind of appointment where you bring a book because the queue is a rumor. I packed a turkey roll-up and a water bottle, mostly because I know vending-machine hunger is not real hunger for me anymore.

By the time I got home I was wiped, ate dinner later than usual, and the next morning my scale was up 1.4 pounds. Old me would have spiraled. Instead I checked my 7-day average: down 0.2 from last week, same slope I have had for six weeks. The wait was boring; the data was boring; that is the win.

Anybody else have those errand days where the non-scale part of the routine just quietly holds the line?

Four hours at the DMV is its own special kind of drained—standing, fluorescent lights, weird timing. That combo usually shows up in my rings before my scale.

I’ve started noting “long standing day” and “dinner later than usual” in my tracker, then only trusting my 3-day average instead of the next-morning number. Did yours settle back down after a normal dinner and sleep night, or is it still hanging out a bit high?

Be gentle with yourself either way.

For me, the DMV-type days are why I stopped judging by next-morning scale. Weird meal timing plus sleep debt can hide a bump for 24–48h, so I log it as a “chaos day” and only trust my 7-day average.

I lift 4x and keep protein high, and a calm scale after an exhausting day usually means nothing yet. Did your calm week hold through the weekend, or was Tuesday just the outlier?

That’s the part I’d watch for recomp.
