My dorm protein rotation is outsmarting the vending machine

Down 34 total, 12 of it since spring semester started. My budget is basically three digits and my kitchen is a microwave with trust issues, so cheap protein has become a personality trait.

Current rotation: canned tuna, cottage cheese from the dining hall salad bar, eggs I hard-boil in a kettle, and a yogurt cup I buy with meal points when I'm pretending to be a functioning adult. The weird habit that's helping is packing two snacks before my 3 p.m.

class, because otherwise I walk past the vending machine and hear it say my name. I still eat cereal for dinner sometimes.

But the overall direction is down and boring, and I'm okay with boring. What's your best dorm-friendly protein that doesn't involve a full stove or a prayer?

Kettle eggs are elite dorm engineering. One cheap add: if your dining hall has cottage cheese, grab a to-go cup and mix in a tuna packet + mustard or hot sauce, eat with a couple hard-boiled eggs.

Sounds cursed, tastes like a poor man’s tuna melt, and it’s ~35g protein without the microwave. Also, since you weigh daily: switch your brain to the 7-day average, especially during semester stress.

The scale can bounce 2–3 lbs from sodium/sleep and still be a downtrend. What’s the yogurt cup—Greek or sugary?

That’s the only swap I’d bother with.

if your dining hall does grilled chicken nights, grab a plain breast and dice it into a microwave rice cup + frozen broccoli — sad stir-fry, but like 30g protein for $2.50. I also keep dry milk powder in a shaker cup and stir a scoop into oatmeal so I’m not buying another yogurt cup.

My tracking is literally a phone note: protein first, carbs whatever’s on sale. Shrp q: does your hall let you take a to-go box from the salad bar, or is that considered trespassing?
