Scale says 63 down. The big number can wait.

Night shift again. I work 7p-7a, three on, four off. Down 63 since January. Not at the huge milestone. Fine.

I eat the same thing at 2 a.m. because decisions are trash then. Greek yogurt, frozen berries, turkey roll-ups. Boring. Works.

The app wants me to chase a goal I set when I was angry. I don't care about that number today. I care that my knees don't yell on stairs and I stopped waking up with heartburn.

Still on the med. Still logging. Not hype. Just repetition.

Anyone else ignore the big round-number goal and track weird stuff instead? Mine is whether I get through a shift without the vending machine.

Night shift 3x12s here, so I feel this. My 2 a.m. plate is a sad little charcuterie too: cottage cheese, frozen mango, and a pickle rolled in turkey.

I prep two versions on my first day off so I don’t have to think at 2 a.m. The four off are where I drift—I try to keep my wake window within an hour and plan one real meal with my partner.

What do you do on day one off to flip back without losing the plot?

Night-shift data nerd here. The thing that saved my sanity was switching the app from goal-weight tracking to a 7-day trend and a “2 a.m.

box” I prepped before shift: same yogurt/berries/turkey, already logged. Boring is a feature. On your 4 off, do you flip back to days or stay mostly nocturnal? I ask because my scale noise

Curious — are you lifting on the 3-on work days or saving the 4x for yur off block? I run a similar 3x12/4-off-ish schedule and my recomp only clicked when I stopped trying to force heavy sessions after a 7a-2p sleep.

Now I keep work days to a 25-min DB circuit + 8k steps, then hit 4 real lifts in the off stretch. The 2am yogurt/berries/turkey is honestly a solid anchor; I’d just make sure protein is high enough and maybe add a handful of nuts or cottage cheese if you wake up ravenous.

Tracking waist and top-set strength beats the app’s angry goal anyway.

63 down while working 7p–7a is not a small win, that’s a quiet flex. Boring works — I’ve got a rotating “default dinner” too, and it’s the only reason I don’t eat cereal over the sink.

Sharp question: what’s your one non-negotiable anchor on the first off day? My schedule goes feral when I don’t pick one habit that survives the flip — mine is a 10-minute walk after “morning” coffee, even if morning is 4 p.m.

Also, are you tracking anything besides the scale, like energy or how work pants fit at hour 10? The big number can wait; 63 is already loud.
