I had to tell somebody who gets it: after 18 weeks and 27 pounds down, I walked into our little farm store and tried on a pair of tall boots in my regular size 8—not wide calf—and they zipped all the way up. I actually sat on the bench and got a little teary.
My calves used to measure 17.5 inches; today they’re 15.5. I’ve just been doing 20-minute walks after supper and picking up my refill at the local pharmacy every month.
The insurance part is still a headache, but the pharmacy tech has been so kind and remembers my name. Anyway, I’m curious: what non-scale victory snuck up on you? A ring? A seatbelt? A bath towel? I wasn’t expecting boots to be mine.
