I’ve been hesitant to post because I know comparisons can sting, but I had a quiet little win this week. I’m down from 214 to 186 over about 22 weeks. The scale part is nice, but the thing that stopped me in the hallway was catching my side profile in a window and not immediately wanting to look away.
My old size 18 jeans are loose enough that I donated them, and I’m comfortably in a 14 now. I’ve been trying to track body signals instead of chasing the number: gentle 20-minute walks after lunch, protein at breakfast, water bottle on my desk, and actually sitting down for meals.
Some weeks nothing moves and I feel puffy and discouraged.
This week, though, my knees felt better on the stairs and my rings spin. For those further along, when did your brain start catching up to the mirror?
I’m curious, gently, how you handle the days when old thoughts show up.
