Cloudy mix, two kids, and my snack drawer reset

My retatrutide mix went cloudy this morning, right as both kids were arguing over the last waffle. I'm not asking how to fix it - I just put it away, took a breath, and made actual breakfast instead of grazing from the snack drawer.

My drawer strategy has been: one salty, one sweet, one protein, all pre-portioned in little bags. It worked until today. I still ate two string cheeses standing up while packing lunches, so not exactly a win.

But I didn't spiral into the whole box of crackers, which is something. Has anyone else had a mix look off and had it totally derail your morning routine?

Or is that just my chaotic kitchen?

Oof, the waffle standoff plus a cloudy mix would send me straight to the pantry too. Good on you for hitting pause.

I’ve got a similar drawer, but I moved my pre-portioned bags into a clear bin on the fridge door—cheese sticks, turkey roll-ups, grapes (our little grocery only sells giant bags, so I split them Sunday), and two dark chocolate squares. If it’s hidden in the pantry I forget it exists; at eye level I actually eat it.

I also keep a sticky note tally: sweet, protein, veggie, plus a "standing?" check. Standing snacks are my sneaky ones.

Do you reset the drawer weekly or just when it runs dry?

I really like that you hit pause and made real breakfast—that’s the win. One tiny tweak that helped me when the snack drawer became autopilot: I moved it off the main path and put a clear bowl of pre-washed grapes/cherry tomatoes at eye level.

The friction did more than willpower ever did. Since you’ve already got the salty/sweet/protein setup, what’s the usual crack-in-the-routine time—after school, pre-dinner, or the 3pm slump?

I’d pick just that one window to pre-plan a mini-meal so the drawer isn’t the first stop.
