My nasal strip use dropped from nightly to twice weekly

Down 28 lb over 22 weeks. The NSV I didn't expect: my nightly nasal strip habit has gone from every night to roughly twice a week. Same bedroom humidity, same pillow, no new allergies.

My partner says snoring is down too, though I'm not pretending that's a sleep study. I only track it as a binary in my log, so the change is easy to see: 7/7 nights in January, 2/7 this month. Weight loss is slowing; this metric isn't. Anyone else tracking upper-airway stuff instead of inches?

Same here—down about 24 lb and my nasal strips have gone from a nightly staple to maybe twice a week. The weird concrete clue: I used to grab the 44-count box at our local pharmacy every month; my current box has been around since April.

My partner says the snoring is quieter, and my watch’s overnight breathing disturbances ticked down too, though I know that’s not a sleep study. Have you noticed it’s worse on nights you eat later or have a drink?

That’s the next thing I’m tracking, because my strips seem tied to that more than humidity now.

I see it slightly differently, honestly. My strip use didn’t fall in a neat line with weight—down ~19 lb and still 4–5 nights some weeks.

What actually moved it was sleep position: I stopped back-sleeping and propped myself slightly on my side, and the strips dropped after that. So I’d check whether your sleeping position changed around the same time before giving all the credit to fat loss.

Not arguing snoring isn’t better—just that my own binary log fooled me until I added position as a second column. Did yours change, or are you still 7/7 on position?

Your 28 lb over 22 weeks is actually more like ~1.3 lb/week—slow and steady, not linear, which helps me not overread weekly noise. The nasal-strip shift is interesting.

Mine went from 7/7 to about 2–3/7 once I started post-dinner walks and moved our main meal earlier; I’d been blaming bedroom humidity, but late/heavier dinners seemed to be the real variable. I only log a simple “stuffy yes/no” now.

Did your strip nights cluster after later dinners, or are they pretty random across the week?

I track strip use as binary too, but I’d push back on weight being the main driver. I also log sleep position and neck circumference monthly.

My strip nights went 26/30 to 9/30 over five months, but the tighter correlation was neck (-1.25 in, r=0.71) vs scale weight (r=0.38). Supine nights are still strip nights almost every time.

Are your remaining twice-weekly strip nights clustered on back-sleeping or after late/salty dinners? That combo flipped my whole trendline.
