Read a slow-loss piece

Saw a short video about a study suggesting gradual loss can be easier to maintain than fast loss. I’m 14 months past goal, down 62 lbs, and my own graph was a slow crawl: 0.5 to 1 lb most weeks, with a few months where nothing moved.

The part that clicked for me wasn’t the headline; it was how unremarkable maintenance feels when the same boring habits still carry the week. I’m not qualified to judge the study, but it matched my experience — the pace gave me time to keep meals, walks, and sleep roughly steady.

Curious whether others who lost slowly feel the same, or if you had a fast stretch and still settled into maintenance fine?

This tracks with my spreadsheet: loss phase averaged about 0.8 lb/week over 9 months, and maintenance has stayed inside a 3.2-lb band for 13 months. The weird part was flat months where the scale didn’t move but waist measurements did, so I switched to weekly averages plus monthly high/low instead of daily numbers.

Did your 0.5–1 lb weeks include any long plateaus that later revised downward after a whoosh? I’m trying to figure out whether slow-loss stability is real or just trend-line smoothing.
