I zipped my tall boots and just stood there

I’ve been avoiding one pair of tall boots in the back of my closet. Not because of the style — they used to stop halfway up my calf and leave a red dent.

Today I tried them with thin socks, expecting the same pinch, and they zipped without me holding my breath. I stood in the hallway for a minute, flexing my ankles and checking for numbness or pressure spots. No tingling, no ache.

I’m five months in and down 21 lbs, so it’s not a huge drop, but my calves seem to hold less swelling lately. I’m trying not to read too much into one good clothing moment. Has anyone else noticed a change in a body spot you’d stopped expecting anything from?

And if you track measurements, do you use a tape at the same time of day, or just go by how things feel?

The hallway stand-off is such a specific win. I have tall black boots that used to leave a welt above my ankle. When they finally zipped, I did the same kitchen lap — sat, stood, checked for the dent.

Now I keep a sticky note in the snack drawer that says “boots zipped” for days the scale acts dumb. Did you notice if it’s easier in the morning versus after chasing kids all afternoon?

My calves still puff by dinner, so I’m curious if your pair behaves differently at different times.
